We were very excited that we had been asked to review a selection of alcoholic drinks from Aldi recently.
We are both not massive drinkers but do like to have the occasionally glass of wine/cider after a hard day at work or for a special occasion.
This weekend was my Brothers Birthday so we decided to have a few drinks and celebrate, We thought this was the perfect opportunity to try out the selection we received.
Adam (My Brother) and Ben like Cider, its their usual choice of alcoholic beverage.
The Orchard Premium Cider 568ml bottle comes in two choices, Apple or Pear! Ben had the Pear and said it was very nice, not too fizzy which some ciders can be.
Adam had the Apple and said it was very nice too and at a bargain price of 95p per bottle you cannot go wrong!
Mum and I of course tested out the Cambalala Chenin Blanc 75cl Bottle of wine!
The Cambalala is a South African Wine which is Crisp, ripe fruit notes with a touch of pineapple.
We really enjoyed this bottle of wine and found it nice to drink and not too strong, as I am not a fan of very dry strong tasting wines.
Chenin Blanc is by far the most widely grown variety in South Africa. Locally known as Steen, the sunny climate helps the grapes to fully ripen and so enhance their tropical fruit flavours.
The Cambalala Chenin Blanc is £3.99 per bottle.
My Dad loves Baileys so he was eager to try the Aldi version Ballycastle Irish Cream Liqueur.
A fantastic blend of fresh Ballyrashane dairy cream and the finest triple distilled Irish Whiskey, this firm favourite is a perfect after-dinner treat
Dad said he really enjoyed the Ballycastle, it was very smooth and creamy and pleasing to drink.
The Ballycastle Irish Country Cream liqueur is £4.39 per 70cl Bottle which is an absolute bargain!
We were also sent a bottle of Austins Classic Summer Punch (similar to Pimms).
I haven't yet tried this but as soon as the weather brightens up and we have a BBQ this will be coming out! I love drinking punch in the summer, mixed with fruit and lemonade sitting in the sun its just the perfect summery drink!
Disclaimer: We were sent the selection of Aldi Alcoholic drinks for free, but have received no other form of compensation to provide this review. All opinions are my own.
