Baking with Children & Peanut Butter Pie Recipe!

My little one loves baking, but sometimes it can be a little difficult when an ovens involved!

Well last week in half term Bethany asked if we could do some baking, so we decided to pick some recipes that didn't involve the oven!

Here's what we made.

Peanut butter Pie

We are big fans of peanut butter in our house.

To make this you will need;

235g Icing Sugar
60g Butter
225g Peanut Butter
50g Cornflakes
200g Chocolate

I also bought baking paper to put on the bottom of my tin so it was easier to get it out once set.

To start you mix the icing sugar and peanut butter together in a bowl, then melt the butter, this can be done in a microwave on a low heat, or on the hob in a glass bowl over a pan of hot water.

Once the butter is melted add it to the mixture and stir in, then mix in the cornflakes (this can take a little while to get it all together).

Once its all mixed together spread it into the tin, you can use any tin, i used a square one.

Next melt the chocolate again this can be done in a microwave on a low heat, or on the hob in a glass bowl over a pan of hot water.

Once the chocolate is melted poor it onto the top of the mixture in the tin and spread to cover the top, then put in the fridge to set.

Once set remove from tin and slice into portions.

And then enjoy!

We also made cornflake cakes to use up the cornflakes that were left over so they didn't go to waste.

We never use a recipe to make cornflake cakes we just melt our chocolate and add in the cornflakes and mix until all coated.

Im a really big kid and i do love a good cornflake cake, they are also very quick to make for little ones who don't have a long attention span, and Bethany loves to scrape the bowl after!
